Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least one year of professional DSP, caregiving, or home care experience.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical duties.
• Pass background check and drug screen.
• Commitment to client safety and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene.
• Support clients with daily routines while promoting independence.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with meal prep, light housekeeping, errands, and activities.
• Support mobility, transfers, and safety needs.
• Follow care plans and document care accurately.
• Observe changes and report to the nurse case manager.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

BrightStar Care of Fort Wayne is hiring compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide meaningful, one-on-one care in clients' homes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced DSP, Caregiver, Home Health Aide (HHA), or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) seeking consistent hours, supportive leadership, and the opportunity to help individuals remain safe, comfortable, and independent.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least one year of professional DSP, caregiving, or home care experience
• Current CPR certification
• Current physical examination and negative TB test completed within the past 12 months
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical duties of the position
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

• Perform range-of-motion and mobility exercises according to the care plan
• Follow each client’s individualized plan of care
• Complete timely and accurate care documentation
• Observe and report changes in a client’s condition to the nurse case manager
• Protect each client’s dignity, safety, privacy, and personal choices
