Job summary

BrightPath Human Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist adults with intellectual disabilities, autism, and mental health diagnoses. You will help with daily living, skills development, and community participation in a supportive, person-centered environment.

You will work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with paid training, potential overtime, and opportunities for NADSP certification and career advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in human services, caregiving, or a related field preferred (paid training provided for qualified candidates).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Ability to pass background checks and required clearances.
• Obtain DSP Certification (company paid) within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and household tasks
• Support individuals in building independent living skills and engaging in community activities
• Monitor, document, and report progress, behaviors, and incidents in accordance with program guidelines
• De-escalate crisis situations and remain calm during emergencies
• Administer medications and follow prescribed healthcare plans
• Promote and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals served
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and families/guardians
• Work assigned overtime as needed to meet program requirements

Education
