Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health in Rutland, MA is seeking a Direct Care Professional to support youth with complex behavioral needs. The role offers growth potential within a large nonprofit behavioral health network.

The position starts at $21.12/hour with merit-based increases up to $24.58/hour based on education and experience. A 2-week paid orientation is required for external candidates, and MAPS certification is expected within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Active driver’s license is required.
• High School diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or Special Education preferred.
• MAPS certification, or able to obtain certification within 6 months of employment.
• Must be able to attend a 2 week paid orientation, which runs Monday-Friday, 8AM to 4PM for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
• Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision.
• Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
• Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement for the same.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Living Skills.
• Possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports.
