Job summary

Devereux Massachusetts seeks a Direct Support/Care Professional to work with youth with complex psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders in Rutland, MA. The role emphasizes safety, direct supervision, and delivering therapeutic interventions in a compassionate setting.

You will engage with at-risk youth, teach daily living skills, and document progress and incidents. A sign-on bonus is offered, with an additional MAPS certification bonus, plus comprehensive benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Active driver’s license is required.
• High School diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or Special Education preferred.
• MAPS certification, or able to obtain certification within 6 months of employment if going to a Group Home Setting.
• Must be able to attend a 2 week paid orientation, Mon-Fri, 8AM-4PM for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
• Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision.
• Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
• Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement for the same.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills.
• Possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports.
