Job summary

MARC, Inc. of Manchester is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist people with developmental disabilities in group homes in Manchester, CT. The role focuses on daily living activities, personal growth, and community involvement.

The position is part-time with flexible hours including nights and weekends. A valid CT driver’s license and vehicle are required, with CPR/First Aid and PMT certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have CT license, auto registration, and vehicle insurance as driving is required.
• CPR, First Aid, PMT and Med Certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides both staff and natural supports to and implements services for each person served.
• Ensures each person served becomes involved in their community utilizing natural supports.
• Supports each person served in taking care of their home, finances, proper nutrition, and medical needs to the best of their ability.
• Works with the Group Home Manager on goals of people served.
• Ensures residential settings meet physical standards at all times.
• Maintains rights and dignity of all persons served and provides a positive role model.
• Attends MARC trainings (CPR, First Aid, PMT, Medication Certification) within six months of hire.
• Transports persons served using agency or personal vehicle when necessary.
