Job summary

Resources for Human Development (RHD) is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Oxford, CT (and nearby Trumbull). This role offers full-time hours, competitive hourly pay, and the option of DailyPay.

Training is provided, with MAP certification opportunities to boost compensation and advancement within a mission-driven organization. Successful candidates will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings, helping them achieve independence

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Connecticut driver’s license.
• Ability to pass all required background screenings, including FBI clearance when applicable.
• MAP certification welcomed or obtainable during employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and support in accordance with each individual's person-centered ISP.
• Assist individuals in working toward personal goals and outcomes.
• Support activities of daily living, including meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks.
• Provide transportation to appointments and community activities as needed.
• Assist individuals in accessing community resources and supports.
• Administer or assist with medications in accordance with MAP certification requirements.
• Complete required documentation and reports accurately and timely.
• Work collaboratively with clinical and program staff to support quality services.
• Promote healthy, safe, and socially appropriate behaviors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
