Job summary
South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at Whitten Regional Center in Clinton, SC. The role involves direct, hands-on care under supervision and requires adherence to behavior support plans and safety protocols.
Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience with individuals with disabilities.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years experience with individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of Therap and SCEIS Central for time/leave is preferred.
- Valid Driver's License required.
Responsibilities
- Ensure health and safety of consumers per BSP, dining and lifting protocols.
- Mentor entry-level staff and work overtime as needed for safety.
- Transport and monitor consumers to/off campus appointments and activities.
- Collect data accurately and maintain documentation per policies.
- Report significant events and suspected abuse per policies.
