Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at Midlands Regional Center in Columbia, SC.

You will provide daily living support, follow individualized plans, and help with activities while ensuring safety and dignity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred.
• Basic computer skills and documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on daily living support to consumers.
• Follow individual support plans and BSP/dining/ lifting protocols.
• Transport and monitor consumers to appointments and activities.
• Document data and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Report significant events and suspected abuse per policies.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow agency procedures.
