Job summary

Easterseals Blake Foundation is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with intellectual, physical and developmental disabilities in achieving independence across home and community settings.

This full-time role involves personal care, transportation, and support with daily living activities in home, day program, or group home environments. Must have HS diploma or GED, caregiving experience, and ability to obtain required certifications and clear background checks.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED and caregiving experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and ability to handle stressful situations.
• Must have valid drivers license and ability to pass background checks and obtain CPR/First Aid certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal care and hygiene needs, including transfers with lifts.
• Perform housekeeping tasks and meal preparation.
• Provide transportation to appointments, outings, and community activities.
• Guide community participation, budgeting, exercise, nutrition, and daily living skills.
• Administer medications or assist with self-administration under supervision.
• Maintain up-to-date files per ISP and document incidents and progress.
