Job summary

WellLife Network is seeking Direct Support Professionals to help New Yorkers with developmental disabilities thrive in their homes and communities. You’ll provide hands-on care, advocacy, and encouragement to support daily living and independence.

As a DSP, you’ll assist with personal care, meals, and health appointments, while promoting mobility, safety, and community involvement in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency required.
• Experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental or other behavioral health disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care, encouragement, and advocacy for individuals you support.
• Assist with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Help with meal preparation, household chores, and creating a safe home environment.
• Support health and wellness by assisting with medical appointments and following treatment plans.
• Aid mobility and safe transfers, using mobility aids as needed.
• Encourage community and social engagement through activities and events.
• Assist with communication tools and advocate for needs and access to services.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and maintain daily notes and reports.
