Job summary

United Cerebral Palsy of Georgia is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily living, transportation, meals, and activities. You will tailor support to individual goals and promote independence in a community setting.

Candidates should have excellent communication and organizational skills, a valid driver's license, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provides transportation and supervision for individuals to meet employment, recreational and leisure activities.
• Performs vehicle safety inspections and ensures proper transport of residents including tie downs and seat belt use.
• Maintains housekeeping in kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and floors.
• Prepares meals according to dietary guidelines and healthcare plans.
• Provides personal care and assists with activities of daily living.
• Completes documentation using Therap system and other programs.
• Monitors goals and ISP progress and conducts evacuation drills.
• Assists in planning person-centered outings.
• Follows agency, state and federal laws and policies.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
