Job summary

United Cerebral Palsy of Georgia is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily living tasks, transportation, and recreation. DSPs tailor support to promote growth and independence and work closely with individuals to meet ISP goals.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, meal prep, documentation in Therap, and following safety protocols. Training is provided; candidates must lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must have valid driver’s license and CPR/FA certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides transportation and supervision for individuals as required to meet employment, recreational and leisure activities.
• Performs inspections of vans and ensures that all training for the safe transport of residents is followed, including tie downs and seat belt usage.
• Performs housekeeping responsibilities to include kitchens, bathrooms, windows, bedrooms, and floors.
• Maintains all standards when preparing meals and managing diets; follows health plans.
• Provides personal care support including changing, dressing, and other ADLs.
• Completes documentation using Therap and related programs.
• Ensures goals are met according to each ISP.
• Conducts evacuation drills and records results.
• Assists in planning person-centered outings and tracks health data.
• Completes medication administration training; adheres to MAR entries.
