Job summary

ICES: Data, Discovery, Better Health seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Georgia to provide a safe, supportive environment and help individuals live as independently as possible.

You will assist with daily activities, meals, hygiene, budgeting, medication supervision, transportation to appointments, and record-keeping, while promoting community integration and personal growth.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and pass background check.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college credits a plus.
• Must have valid driver's license and ability to drive a van.
• Crisis Intervention training (CPI/NCPI/H.E.L.P) preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform daily tasks.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, supportive, therapeutic environment and foster growth.
• Assist with daytime activities, personal hygiene, meals, and grooming.
• Teach budgeting, daily chores, and grocery planning with individuals.
• Teach self-medication skills and supervise meds as needed.
• Transport individuals to medical, dental, or psychiatric appointments.
• Perform daily electronic record keeping and share info with shifts.
• Attend staff meetings and training; conduct drills per guidelines.
• Encourage community integration and participation in activities.
• Follow individual treatment plans and ensure cleanliness and infection control.
• Provide opportunities for daily decision making and self-esteem building.
