Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking Co-Teachers to support instructional delivery using the Direct Instruction Curriculum under the guidance of experienced teachers and an assistant principal of instruction. The role emphasizes mastery teaching, student progress tracking, and collaboration to maintain a productive learning environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with student instruction, records, and DI lesson delivery, plus regular communication with families.

Qualifications

• Education: At least 48 college hours or a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution.
• Experience: 1+ year working with children in classroom or volunteer settings.
• Knowledge: Ability and motivation to master the Direct Instruction Curriculum; ability to instruct students and manage behavior.
• Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities; adaptability to various school situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational development of students under guidance of classroom teachers.
• Assist with maintaining student records.
• Implement the Direct Instruction Curriculum.
• Support lesson practice and delivery of the DI Curriculum.
• Communicate students' progress weekly to students and families.
• Help establish a school-wide culture of productive learning.
