Job summary

IDEA Public Schools Bluff Springs Academy in Austin, Texas, seeks a Physical Education and Integrated Health Co-Teacher to support instruction and implement the Direct Instruction Curriculum under supervision. Teachers structure learning to mastery, guiding students at their own pace.

The role requires 48 college hours or a bachelor’s degree and 1+ year working with children, with a strong focus on instruction, recording progress, and maintaining a positive classroom culture.

Qualifications

• Education: At least 48 college hours or bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience: 1+ year working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting.
• Must master the Direct Instruction Curriculum and manage student behavior.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational development of students under the direction and guidance of the classroom teachers.
• Assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records.
• Successfully implement the Direct Instruction (DI) Curriculum.
• Participate in lesson practice and delivery of our Direct Instruction (DI) Curriculum.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families on a weekly basis.
• Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
