Job summary

Homestead of Creston in Creston, IA is seeking a full-time Direct Care Worker to provide daily living assistance to residents, including medication support under supervision. You will help with activities of daily living, housekeeping and laundry, and mealtime service as directed by the Executive Director.

Certification as a Medication Aide or completion of the 10-hour medication manager course is required at hire.

Qualifications

• Certified Medication Aide or completion of the 10 hr medication manager course is required on hire.
• Direct care duties include assisting residents with activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to residents including assistance with daily living activities.
• Assist with housekeeping and laundry duties and mealtime service.
• Follow directions from Executive Director and maintain resident safety and comfort.

As a direct care worker that handles medications, you will be required to provide direct care to facility residents, primarily for their activities of daily living. In addition, you will assist with housekeeping and laundry duties, mealtime service, and all other duties assigned by the Executive Director. Certified Medication Aide or completion of the 10 hr medication manager course is required upon hire.
