Job summary

Attain, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential and community settings.

The DSP helps with daily living activities, promotes independence, and implements individualized support plans. The role reports to the Program Coordinator and requires completing required trainings and maintaining documentation, with a focus on health, safety, dignity, and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in related settings preferred.
• Valid Florida driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to complete required background screenings.
• Certifications: CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, PCM or equivalent, Behavior support training.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and supervision to individuals receiving services.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in achieving goals outlined in their Individual Support Plans and Behavior Support Plans.
• Facilitate community participation, recreational activities, and skill-building opportunities.
• Administer medications and maintain required documentation per policies and state regulations.
• Observe, document, and report health, behavior, or other significant changes.
• Ensure health, safety, dignity, and rights of all individuals served.
• Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, and service records.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, healthcare professionals, and team members.
• Participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development.
