Job summary

University of Pittsburgh's BHAS is seeking a Dining Services Assistant to assist in oversight of on-campus dining operations and special projects. You will help ensure food quality, safety, and excellent customer service while coordinating initiatives such as Pitt Public Markets.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least two years in dining services; typical hours are 9am-5:30pm with some evenings/weekends based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum education is a High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant dining services experience.
• Flex hours including evenings and weekends may be required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all operations of dining services and related special projects.
• Coordinate on- and off-campus projects, including Pitt Public Markets.
• Support food quality, inventory, safety standards, and customer service expectations.
• Maintain knowledge of Health Department regulations and guidelines.
• Identify opportunities for new dining concepts and sustainability initiatives.
• Conduct routine inspections and assist with maintenance in dining areas.
• Monitor performance of contracted dining service providers.
• Build relationships with student organizations, clients, and community groups.
• Develop and implement sustainable practices within dining services.
• Interpret and follow department and University policies and procedures.
