Brookdale Senior Living is seeking a dining services leader to manage kitchen operations and ensure high-quality meals for residents and staff. You will oversee food preparation, menu planning, staffing, and compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two to four years experience in commercial kitchen, operation and line cooking, or equivalent.
• Current ServSafe Certification required.
• State food service certification required, if applicable.
• ACF Certified Sous Chef (CSC) preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft software preferred.
• Basic typing skills are essential.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, culinary nutrition, and supervisory management.

Responsibilities

• Plans, manages, and coordinates activities of the dining services department at one or more locations.
• Provides food services for residents and employees.
• Develops standards for organization and supervision of dining services.
• Maintains quality dining services within the prescribed budget.
• Determines quality and quantity of food required; plans menus and controls food costs.
• Oversees food preparation and cooking to ensure meals are prepared per procedures.
• Inspects all work, storage, and serving areas for compliance with food safety and sanitation.
• Prepares cleaning schedule, production worksheet and staff schedules.
• Maintains inventory of food and nonfood items.
• Trains new employees and delegates authority to dining services staff.
• Develops cost control systems and submits department budget to director.
• Provides nutrition education and counseling for residents.
• Ensures safe work procedures and infection control are followed.
• Implements continuous quality improvement programs.
