Job summary

The Village at Gainesville is seeking a Dining Services Manager to create an engaging dining experience for residents, staff, and visitors in accordance with applicable standards. You will report to the Assistant Dining Service Director and oversee breakfast, lunch, and dinner service across venues.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing budgets, ensuring food quality and sanitation, training team members, and coordinating menu planning.

Position Title

Dining Services Manager

Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to create an enjoyable dining experience for the residents, staff, and visitors in the dining areas in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. Food shall be prepared and served in compliance with The Village’s established policies and procedures to assure that quality food and service is provided at all times. This position reports to the Assistant Dining Service Director.

Essential Job Functions

• Ensures a positive and enjoyable dining experience and carefully follows established procedures for food quality and consistency, plate presentation, and service
• Provides quality customer service in all interactions with residents, guests and staff
• Manages supervisors, staff and oversees culinary along with all operations for breakfast, lunch and dinner service at assigned venues
• Effectively works within the parameters of your assigned budget and purchasing.
• Oversees service in dining rooms and ensures proper opening time of main dining room
• Attends meetings, as asked, to represent the Dining Services Department
• In charge of training all dining service staff at your assigned location.
• Assists in menu planning, printing and distribution
• Evaluates and ensures food quality
• Responsible for providing a safe and sanitary working environment
• Promotes clean, safe and organized environment for residents, self, and staff; adheres to all safety and sanitation requirements
• Communicates any relevant issues, problems, or complaints to the Assistant Dining Service Director
• Adheres to company policies and procedures
• Attends departmental education and all required in-service training/education
• Maintains confidentiality of resident/family and facility information
• Responds to all fire alarms and assist in the evacuation of residents when needed
• Leads recruiting for the dining service department.
• Works in conjunction with staff of other departments when needed
• Represents the organization through professional demeanor and attitude
• Responsible for formulation of PDN’s, for Human Resource approval
• Performs other duties as required​
• Something along the lines of provides the AL Assistant Manager with guidance and leadership

CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE

• Provides quality customer service in all interactions with residents, guests and staff
• Possess knowledge of all applicable local, state, and federal regulations
• Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal communication
• Excellent conflict resolution and customer service skills
• Able to work well with others, including staff, supervisor, residents, families, volunteers and the public
• Should we add ACHA compliance and Core Training?

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and travel between buildings by walking or by golf cart
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Climb ladder or step stool; climb stairs
• Bending, stooping and reaching overhead

You Have

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 3+ yrs. food service management experience required, Senior Living Dining experience preferred
• ServSafe Certified
• CPR and First Aid certification or eligible
• CDM Certification is a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Indoors, heated and air-conditioned kitchen and storage areas
• Exposure to commercial cleaning products
• Work in kitchen at temperature of 98 degrees and above
