Job summary

Covenant Living is seeking a Dining Room Manager to lead front‑of‑house dining operations across Residential Living and Assisted Living communities. You will supervise servers and dietary aides, coach staff, and coordinate with nursing and resident services to deliver restaurant‑quality dining experiences for residents, families and guests.

This role fosters hospitality, compliance and teamwork within an IDT, conducts dining and nutritional assessments, plans events, and ensures safety,

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • 2+ years of restaurant, senior living, hospitality, or related food service leadership experience.
  • 1+ year of leadership experience is preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification required upon hire.
  • Experience with older adults, assisted living, healthcare, or hospitality environments preferred.
  • Ability to motivate and energize teams.
  • Ability to navigate difficult conversations.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to lift up to 30 pounds and be mobile in dining areas.

  • Provide hands‑on leadership in daily dining operations, assisting with service, resident interactions, dining room setup, and floor management.
  • Ensure an exceptional dining experience by maintaining high standards of hospitality, service excellence, and resident satisfaction.
  • Oversee front‑of‑house operations for Residential Living and Assisted Living dining venues, including satellite kitchenettes.
  • Collaborate with culinary, nursing, and resident services teams to support residents’ nutritional and dining needs.
  • Serve as an active member of the IDT, contributing to resident care planning and support.
  • Complete dining and nutritional assessments for Assisted Living residents as required.
  • Coordinate with nursing leadership to ensure residents’ diets and accommodations are addressed.
  • Meet with residents and families to discuss dining concerns and preferences.
  • Maintain regulatory documentation, food safety records, and operational logs.
  • Monitor cleanliness, sanitation, and organization standards in dining spaces and satellite kitchen areas.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating special events and private gatherings.
  • Support operations during emergencies, staffing shortages, or special circumstances.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, and supply monitoring.

Lead front‑of‑house dining operations across our Residential Living and Assisted Living communities. This hands‑on leadership role oversees dining room service, staff development, resident satisfaction, and daily operations while ensuring a welcoming, restaurant‑quality dining experience for residents, families, and guests.

As an active member of the Assisted Living interdisciplinary team (IDT), the Dining Room Manager partners closely with nursing, dining, and resident services teams to support the unique dining needs of residents.

What you'll do

  • Assist in planning and coordinating special events, celebrations, and private family gatherings.
  • Support department operations by stepping in during emergencies, staffing shortages, or special circumstances.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, and supply monitoring to support efficient operations.

  • Specific physical characteristics and abilities are required to perform the work. Such as, above average agility and dexterity, long periods of walking, standing, bending, stooping. Ability to lift and / or carry moderately heavy items (up to 30 pounds). Mobility in and around the Dining Room and Kitchen is expected.

Compensation Pay Range:

$58,972.00 - $81,178.00 per year

Reasonable Pay Estimate

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $58,972.00 - $81,178.00 per year. There are numerous factors taken into consideration in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including but not limited to: job‑related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and external equity.
