Meridian Senior Living in Bay Shore, NY, seeks a Dining Room Supervisor to oversee daily dining room operations, staffing, sanitation, and compliance with health regulations. You will supervise dining staff, ensure resident meals are served with care, and maintain a warm, safe dining environment.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of related experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to train and schedule team members.

Qualifications

• Relevant work experience (2+ years preferred).
• Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Must communicate effectively with residents, families, staff and the general public.
• Must be formally trained in food service management or the culinary arts or have equivalent experience in food service management or the culinary arts.
• Must be able to supervise dining services department employees using independent judgment and discretion.
• Must meet all health requirements and pass a criminal background check.
• Ensure work areas are clean, safe and orderly. Adhere to infection control, food-borne illness prevention, and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• The Dining Room Supervisor is responsible for actively managing the operations of the dining room, to include staffing, accountability, and sanitation in accordance with health department regulations.
• Assist in maintaining a positive physical and social environment for residents.
• Schedule and reschedule staff using independent judgment; address time-off requests and schedule modifications.
• Perform hosting and serving duties as needed.
