Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Dimension Control Technician in Clearfield, UT. The role focuses on layout, fabrication, and assembly of tooling with strict tolerance control, in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

The position requires hands-on experience with tool design drawings, optical alignment checks, and the ability to work flexible hours. A DoD clearance is required or to be obtained; SAP clearance may be needed for access to sensitive programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience devising reference systems and creating working build models.
• Ability to move objects weighing up to 35 pounds and work on ladders.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF.
• Current active DoD clearance is required or must be obtainable.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance in a reasonable timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, and assemble jigs, fixtures, tool masters, master tooling gauges, and related tooling with precise tolerances.
• Plan work from tool design drawings or own designs including operation sequences.
• Set up and operate optical instruments to check alignment, fit, or adjustment of assemblies.
• Develop and design holding devices and jig/fixture details.
• Prepare shop drawings and sequences for parts fabrication and assembly by others.
• May monitor and verify quality using statistical process controls.
