Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Dimension Control Technician 1/2 (Any Shift) to join the Tooling department. This role requires strong metrology knowledge, precision layout, and collaboration across levels to ensure accurate tooling and assemblies.

Primary responsibilities include jig and fixture design, and using laser trackers and 6DoF scanners. The job offers opportunities for advancement and a dynamic, high-energy environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in tool building and laser tracking in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift objects weighing 35 pounds and navigate shop floors.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Clearance and SAP access.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, and assemble standard and nonstandard tooling with precise tolerances.
• Plan work from tool design drawings or own designs.
• Set up and operate optical instruments to check alignment and fit.
• Develop holding devices and jig details; prepare shop drawings for fabrication.
• Monitor quality according to process controls.
