Job summary

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority seeks an Applications Manager (Digital Workplace) to lead the full lifecycle of enterprise applications, ensuring reliability, performance, and alignment with MBTA goals. You will oversee document management, workflow automation, and compliance systems across administrative and operational functions.

In this role, you will mentor staff, coordinate with vendors, and drive governance, security, and integration efforts for platform ecosystems like

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Five years of experience supporting or managing enterprise applications including configuration and production support.
• One year of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience coordinating with software vendors and managing contracted services.
• Experience with ITSM or ticketing systems.
• Experience with SDLC methodologies (Agile/Waterfall/hybrid).
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage lifecycle of assigned applications including requirements, configuration, enhancements, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Oversee resolution of complex application issues and coordinate cross-functionally.
• Align application work with business needs and organizational goals.
• Ensure application performance, reliability, and governance across platforms.
• Mentor and develop support staff; manage incident responses and vendor relationships.
• Document configurations, procedures, and knowledge materials.
