Job summary

The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America is offering a 2027 Summer Internship in Digital & Technology – Application Development. This 10-week paid program places you in Frontend, Backend/API, or Mobile streams and pairs you with mentors while you work on real projects that impact the business.

Locations include New York, Bethlehem, PA, and Holmdel, NJ, with dates from May 27 to August 6, 2027. You will collaborate with senior leaders and gain hands-on experience in a thriving financial

Qualifications

• Familiarity with modern software development concepts (e.g. Git, CI/CD, RESTful APIs, end-to-end system interactions).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge or experience with Agile environments is a plus.
• Basic understanding of GenAI technologies and LLMs is a plus.
• Familiarity with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality applications for the assigned domain using Cloud and GenAI where applicable.
• Follow coding, testing, and documentation best practices and standards.
• Develop proofs of concepts using modern technology stacks.
• Collaborate with mentors and team members across the organization to grow professionally.
• Learn Guardian’s purpose, values, and product/service offerings.
• Build a network with other interns and colleagues across the business.
