Guardian is offering a 2027 Guardian Summer Intern in Digital & Technology – Application Development. The 10-week internship is a paid learning experience with real projects, mentorship, and exposure to senior leaders within a global financial services company.
Interns will be assigned to Frontend, Backend/API, or Mobile streams, with locations in Bethlehem, PA; New York, NY; and Holmdel, NJ. Applicants must be current juniors or sophomores and eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Our 2027 Summer Internship Program is a paid 10-week learning experience where you will be immersed in the daily environment of a thriving global financial services company. You will gain invaluable industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments, in addition to engaging in projects that directly affect our business, interact with senior leaders in conversational settings, and network with employees and interns across our offices. This 10-week internship provides you with realistic experiences and information of what it is like to work at Guardian.
For all roles, teams are assigned mid-spring. Doing so offers the ability to assign program participants to real-time, business-critical needs.
You will be assigned to one of the following domains: Frontend, Backend/ API or Mobile.
The internship program will run from Thursday, May 27, 2027- Friday, August 6, 2027.

A current junior (graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028) or current sophomore (graduation date of December 2028 or May 2029) who is fueled by collaboration, able to listen and make quick decisions and thrive in a goal-oriented environment.

Familiarity with modern software development concepts (e.g. Git, CI/CD, application architecture patterns, RESTful APIs, and end-to-end system interactions between browser, service, and database layers
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge or experience working in an Agile environment is a plus
Basic understanding of GenAI technologies (Copilot, etc.) and knowledge of LLMs is a plus
Familiarity with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.)
Be a self-starter – someone who enjoys “rolling up their sleeves and getting things done”, has high energy, strong work ethic, displays the ability to work independently, and is creative
Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality applications for the assigned domain leveraging and involved with Cloud and/or GenAI technologies, if required
Follow the best practices and standards for coding, testing, and documentation
Develop proof of concepts leveraging modern technology stack

Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization.
