Job summary

Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) seeks an Occupational Safety and Health Professional to design engaging digital learning, educate employers and workers, and translate regulations into practical safety materials across Washington.

You will create training content, assess learning needs, and collaborate with DOSH and external partners to promote safer workplaces statewide. Flexible schedules and telework options are available, with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or closely related field.
• Four years of paid occupational/industrial safety related professional experience OR two years as an Occupational Safety and Health Professional 2 in DOSH.
• Bilingual in Spanish or other languages spoken in Washington state preferred; a 5% salary increase for dual language responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Turn technical information into practical learning, developing engaging presentations, eLearning courses, and online resources.
• Translate complex regulations into plain language for diverse audiences.
• Apply understanding of hazards and prevention to create useful resources that promote safer workplaces.
