Job summary

Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) DOSH seeks an Occupational Safety and Health Professional to turn complex safety knowledge into practical learning. You will develop digital education, training materials, and outreach resources to help employers and workers apply safety requirements in Washington workplaces.

Travel statewide for outreach, work mostly teleworking with flexible schedules, and collaborate with DOSH colleagues and industry partners to promote safer workplaces

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to learn and grow and meet the needs of others.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in OSH or related field with relevant experience.
• Bilingual in Spanish or other languages preferred; bilingual jobs include a 5% salary increase.
• Experience developing educational content and eLearning materials.
• Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex regulations into plain language and engaging content.
• Develop presentations, eLearning courses, online resources, fact sheets, and hazard alerts.
• Create resources to help employers and workers implement safety controls.
• Research safety issues and verify technical accuracy.
• Collaborate with DOSH colleagues and partners to share safety information.
• Lead safety initiatives and outreach campaigns.
