Job summary

SwissQprint America is seeking a proactive field service technologist to install, commission, maintain, and repair SwissQprint UV LED printers across the United States. The role requires frequent travel and hands-on mechanical/electrical work, with on-site duties in Elgin, IL and occasional remote support.

You will collaborate with 2nd-level support and Swiss engineering to drive product improvements, manage service documentation, and pursue ongoing technical qualification growth.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and electrical foundation; printer installation/service experience is a plus.
• Willingness to relocate or live near facilities; valid driver’s license.
• Clear written and verbal communication; professional, customer-friendly tone.
• Live near our facilities or be willing/able to relocate; distant travel will be required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Travel across the U.S. 40%-75% to install, commission, maintain, and repair swissQprint systems.
• Own your itinerary—book and manage travel; keep rewards/points.
• Provide remote hotline assistance via phone, email, and tools like TeamViewer when not on site.
• Restore trade-in equipment and keep demo printers show-ready at our Elgin, IL location.
• Work closely with 2nd-level support and engineering teams in Switzerland to drive product improvements.
• Handle service documentation and other administrative steps ensuring seamless processes and reporting.
• Pursue continual learning to maintain and expand your technical qualifications.
