You will guide daily content packaging across Nexstar sites to grow readership and engagement, across multiple platforms and regional needs. You will lead editorial teams, craft compelling headlines, and analyze traffic trends to inform daily and long-term strategy, including special coverage projects.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in news gathering or production, with 3 years on the web.
• Experience building online databases (investigative, elections, weather).
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and AP Style.
• Ability to manage multiple sites while balancing in-market needs.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Experience with Google Analytics or similar analytics tools.
• Proficiency in MS Office; HTML, CSS and Photoshop a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attends local editorial meetings and bridges broadcast and digital teams.
• Trains, coaches, and manages a team of local digital journalists.
• Assigned regional tasks across multiple websites as needed.
• Writes buzzy headlines to increase pageviews and improve packaging.
• Packages content interactively and promotes it to drive reader interest.
• Analyzes website traffic trends to guide daily and long-term content development.
• Leads projects for special coverage (weather, breaking news, databases).
• Monitors major news sites and social media for breaking topics.
• Promotes news content on social media.
