Career Opportunity: Digital Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Elgin, Illinois

Join HARTING, a leader in connectivity products and custom solutions. We are seeking a Digital Manufacturing Engineer to partner with global and regional teams on implementing digital solutions in IIOT/SC/OT. Reporting to the Digitalization and Automation Lead, you will help further digitalize our manufacturing facility.

About HARTING

We aim to be a trusted advisor to our customers and a go-to source for industrial connectivity solutions. We collaborate with OEMs and distribution partners on standard and value-added products, as well as product development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage technical projects, including requirements, budgets, timelines, and changes.
  • Utilize technology to drive manufacturing improvements.
  • Lead workshops with sites and stakeholders to understand manufacturing requirements.
  • Develop, deploy, and support manufacturing systems such as MES, QMS, PLCs, SCADA, Data Historians, CMMS, and computer vision.
  • Work with SQL databases, writing complex queries and procedures.
  • Apply OT integration technologies like OPC and MQTT.
  • Design and develop cloud-based data analytics and reports.
  • Integrate OT systems with enterprise solutions using REST API.
  • Travel up to 10% as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or Industrial Technology.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience supporting operations technology.
