Job summary

Austin Community College is offering a paid internship for IT/Cybersecurity or Computer Science students enrolled in ITSC-2264. This in-person role at the Austin Housing Authority site supports residents by increasing access to technology and digital literacy.

The intern will deploy refurbished devices, provide IT support, and participate in security education while working up to 19 hours per week at $23 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be an IT/Cybersecurity or CS/Software Development student registered for ITSC-2264.
• Ability to work independently within departmental policies.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on IT support to Housing Authority residents.
• Connect residents to free and low-cost high-speed internet.
• Deploy refurbished devices and maintain device inventory.
• Assist with digital literacy outreach events and host on-site office hours.
• Strengthen device and network security and educate residents on cybersecurity basics.
