Job description

Built on meritocracy, our unique company culture rewards self‑starters and those who are committed to doing what is best for our customers. Brown & Brown is seeking a Digital Innovation Leader to join our growing team! The Digital Innovation Leader is a hands‑on builder responsible for identifying, developing, and deploying digital capabilities that accelerate growth, improve placement outcomes, and enhance client experience across the Small Business segment.

This role translates business strategy into practical digital solutions — tools, workflows, insights, and automation — that strengthen broker engagement and improve operational efficiency. This leader works across business units and enterprise digital teams to ensure Small Business leverages the right platforms, avoids duplication, and continuously improves its digital maturity.

Digital Strategy Translation
  • Strategy translation — Convert Small Business strategy into actionable digital initiatives, tools, and workflows.
  • Identify practical digital opportunities that improve acquisition, retention, placement, and servicing.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to segment leadership on digital enablement and capability building.
Digital Capability Building
  • Digital tool development — Build and deploy digital tools (CRM enhancements, workflow automation, appetite tools, dashboards) that improve broker efficiency and client outcomes.
  • Develop repeatable digital playbooks for acquisition, placement, and servicing.
  • Build a broker‑free zone digital ecosystem that drives new customer acquisition, self‑service, and improved customer retention.
  • Assess digital maturity and recommend incremental improvements.
Cross‑Functional Execution
  • Cross‑functional coordination — Partner with enterprise digital, data engineering, BI, and product teams to deliver segment priorities.
  • Work closely with sales and placement teams to ensure digital tools support front‑line workflows.
  • Integrate carrier digital capabilities (APIs, appetite tools, pricing engines) into broker workflows.
Digital Engagement & Experience
  • Improve conversion across digital journeys (quote → bind → onboard → retain).
  • Support development of digital and hybrid engagement models that strengthen broker relationships.
  • Enhance client experience through low‑touch, high‑quality digital servicing.
Insights & Analytics
  • Build dashboards and insights that improve visibility into portfolio performance (revenue, margin, retention, loss ratios).
  • Provide actionable insights that help brokers match risk to capacity more effectively.
  • Support predictive analytics initiatives by translating business needs into data requirements.
AI & Automation
  • Identify and execute automation opportunities that reduce cost‑to‑serve and improve service quality.
  • Deploy lightweight AI tools (summarization, workflow automation, appetite matching) that enhance broker productivity.
Skills and Experience to be Successful
  • Experience delivering digital tools, automation, or workflow improvements in a commercial environment.
  • Strong understanding of the insurance broking value chain (sales, placement, servicing).
  • Ability to translate business needs into digital requirements and practical solutions.
  • Hands‑on experience with CRM, workflow automation, dashboards, or martech tools.
  • Comfortable working across business and technical teams to drive execution.
  • Operates with pace, pragmatism, and a bias for action.
  • Experience in small commercial, personal lines, or employee benefits distribution.
  • Preferred Familiarity with carrier digital capabilities (APIs, appetite tools, pricing engines).
  • Preferred Exposure to AI‑enabled tools or automation platforms.
