Job summary

EY is hiring for a Manager in the Service Delivery Center to balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through design, development, testing, deployment and production support while remaining close to code decisions.

You will coordinate distributed teams, mentor engineers, manage dependencies and risks, and work with stakeholders to translate business needs into delivery plans. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of technology software development experience, including responsibility for leading project teams or major delivery workstreams.
• Hands-on coding with Java and Spring Boot, including microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with at least one modern UI framework (Angular/React) and guiding full-stack decisions.
• Experience with enterprise apps on a major cloud platform.
• Experience with CI/CD, containers, testing, and code-quality gates.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, backlog management, and delivery tracking.
• Experience coordinating distributed teams and stakeholder communication.
• Mentorship and coaching skills to uplift engineering practices.
• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka) and observability (Splunk).
• Knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, or Flink for data processing.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end software delivery across planning, design, development, testing, release and support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, reviews, debugging, and proofs-of-concept for complex issues.
• Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, and UI frameworks.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release readiness.
• Coordinate work across geographically distributed teams and ensure clear ownership.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, code reviews, and career development discussions.
• Partner with product owners, architects, DevOps, security, and client stakeholders to translate requirements into plans.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, and delivery metrics; raise impediments with actions.
• Promote secure development, automated testing, CI/CD, observability and operational readiness.
• Support event-driven data-processing solutions using Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, or Flink.
