Job description

Neighbors for Clean Air is seeking a full-time Digital Engagement Manager to lead our grassroots outreach for clean air initiatives across Oregon. The primary responsibility is to build and engage a broad, informed base of supporters through compelling digital campaigns, storytelling, and community-led solutions. . The goal is to unleash the full potential of our diverse communities to achieve clean safe air for everyone everywhere in Oregon.

NCA works to create a healthier Oregon through the reduction of air pollution. NCA upholds state and federal air emissions regulations and advances change through community engagement with regulators, local municipalities, the state legislature, federal government, and business leaders to reduce air pollution, both from industry and the diffuse sources that adversely affect health and negatively impact quality of life in our urban centers.

About the Digital Engagement Manager

In this moment of growth and opportunity for Neighbors for Clean Air, we are looking to hire a Digital Engagement Manager to promote and sustain the growing social media and communication needs for our work across the state.

We are seeking a Digital Engagement Manager who will:

  • Advance all of NCA’s education and engagement work through a digital focus
  • Grow our online presence and deepen relationships with individuals to strengthen how individuals engage with NCA online
  • Utilize a wide array of creative tools to engage with communities online
  • Create written and visual content for social media, emails, NCA’s website and more.
  • Be both a self-starter work well with a team
  • Have a enthusiasm for air quality issues

Content Creation & Social Media

  • Create and develop relevant materials and graphics to support NCA’s work (one pagers, infographics, other collateral and imagery)
  • Manage and grow our online presence across a range of social media platforms and online advocacy tools, such as mass emails, texting and petitions (Facebook, Instagram, BlueSky, LinkedIn and YouTube)
  • Maintain a social media content calendar and solicit staff programming needs and other input
  • Support graphic and other material needs for NCA’s annual fundraising gala and other fundraising campaigns
  • Update website with new content (as needed)

Digital Organizing & Engagement

  • Manage NCA’s email list, sending action alerts, fundraising appeals, newsletters and more
  • Create and manage online campaigns with concrete engagement goals that connect to NCA’s programs and ongoing projects
  • Utilize online platforms and presence to bolster attendance at events, testimony at hearings, participation in rallies or other in-person actions, etc.
  • Identify ways to support leadership development among individuals who engage with NCA online
  • Coordinate with teammates and members to develop narrative content for mass emails and social media posts to support online and offline organizing campaigns.
  • In collaboration with program staff, use social media, email, online advertising, and other digital tools to develop online-to-offline organizing programs
  • Plan and implement 4-6 annual Breathe Oregon program webinars that highlight NCA as issue experts and showcase the science behind our policy positions
  • Maintain a digital ladder of engagement that deepens our online-to-offline organizing programs
  • Support Development and Communications Director with planning and implementation of NCA’s annual gala
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervision This position will report directly to the Development and Communications Director.

BENEFITS

NCA currently pays 100% of each employee’s medical insurance premium, including dental and vision. NCA also offers reimbursement for expenses related to wellness memberships and home office needs. Staff also have the option to enroll in and contribute funds to a Flexible Spending Account. This position also includes a commuter benefit of up to $75/month to use towards parking, public transit or bike commuting to work in our downtown office.

    • approximately 10 recognized holidays.

Staff is encouraged to pursue professional development opportunities and resources supporting such pursuits are provided.

WORKPLACE FORMAT

Hybrid. NCA meets in our downtown office space twice per week. The work associated with this position will require attending some evening and weekend events, may include occasional travel to Salem, as well as in-person engagements as necessary for the responsibilities of the position.

In addition to approximately 10 recognized holidays, Neighbors for Clean Air closes operations for one week at the end of each year in late December.
