Planet Depos in Rockville, MD is seeking a Digital Court Reporter for full-time deposition coverage. The role requires setup of audio/video, logging proceedings, sworn testimony, and maintaining a professional presence in varied environments.

The position operates 8:00am–5:00pm in Rockville with pay ranging from $22.00 to $24.00 per hour, plus benefits. A/V technology comfort and a 2- or 4-year degree are preferred; transportation and ability to lift 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge of the legal industry preferred.
• Comfort with A/V technologies and digital recording.
• Professional appearance and client-facing experience.
• Able to adapt to changing schedule and after-hours work.
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up audio/video equipment quickly in varying environments.
• Position microphone for optimal audio capture.
• Mix multiple audio tracks and monitor for interference.
• Set white balance and exposure for video.
• Ensure proper video framing per legal norms.
• Assist clients with audio, video, and tech issues.
• Maintain knowledge of policies and legal/AV tech.
• Log key legal events, spellings, exhibits, objections.
• Swear in deponents and record testimony faithfully.
• Maintain calm, neutral professionalism.
