Job summary

WRAL News is seeking an experienced Executive Producer of Digital Content to lead our digital strategy across WRAL.com, mobile app, YouTube and social platforms. This role requires strategic leadership, strong editorial judgment, and the ability to drive audience growth and revenue across platforms.

The position reports to newsroom leadership and oversees a team, guiding daily execution and long-term initiatives while maintaining WRAL’s standards for accuracy, urgency and quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in digital journalism or related newsroom environment.
• Proven leadership, ability to manage performance and set expectations.
• Strong editorial judgment and calm decision-making during breaking news.
• Experience growing digital audiences, engagement and revenue.
• Ability to communicate digital strategy to journalists of varying experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily and long-term digital content strategy across web, app, social and video platforms.
• Turn newsroom priorities into detailed digital plans with clear deadlines.
• Integrate storytelling across formats from the start, including vertical video.
• Drive platform growth and measure performance with newsroom leaders.
• Coach and develop the digital team and maintain high editorial standards.
