Job summary

The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) seeks a Coordinator, Communications & Digital in Washington, DC to support ITI’s external communications across media, social media, and digital platforms. You will work closely with the communications and digital leads to elevate policy priorities, advocacy efforts, and member companies.

This role is ideal for an early-career professional who is organized, digitally fluent, and passionate about technology, policy, and public affairs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, political science, public policy, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of relevant professional experience in communications, public relations, digital communications, social media, journalism, public affairs, or related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content development, including LinkedIn, X/Twitter, and other relevant platforms.
  • Familiarity with website content management systems, email marketing tools, digital analytics, and basic graphic design or video editing tools is preferred.
  • Interest in media relations, digital communications, public affairs, technology policy, or advocacy.
  • Ability to learn and communicate complex policy issues clearly and accurately for different audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning new digital tools and platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day execution of ITI’s communications and digital strategies.
  • Monitor media coverage, policy developments, and relevant industry news; prepare and distribute media monitoring reports and other updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain and regularly update media lists, reporter information, communications calendars, and other communications databases and tracking tools.
  • Assist with the development, editing, formatting, and distribution of press releases, statements, media advisories, talking points, newsletters, and other communications materials.
  • Support incoming media requests by helping coordinate scheduling, background materials, internal approvals, and follow‑up.
  • Draft and develop content for ITI’s social media channels and support social media scheduling, publishing, monitoring, and engagement.
  • Publish and update content on ITI’s website, including policy materials, news, events, publications, staff information, and other organizational content.
  • Support development and maintenance of digital content calendars across ITI’s website, social media, and other owned channels.
  • Assist with digital and social media analytics, including compiling performance data and preparing reports that help the team evaluate content and audience engagement.
  • Support the creation and adaptation of graphics, digital assets, short-form video, and other visual content using tools such as Canva, Adobe, or similar platforms.
  • Coordinate with other ITI teams to collect information and translate organizational priorities into timely communications and digital content.
  • Support digital amplification of ITI policy initiatives, events, programs, member activities, and other external-facing work.
  • Help maintain effective workflows for communications and digital projects, including tracking deadlines, approvals, deliverables, and follow‑up.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator supporting the Executive Vice President, Public Affairs, including project coordination, preparation of materials, tracking action items, and support for department-wide initiatives.
  • Perform other duties, including administrative and project coordination support, as assigned.
