Job summary

The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) seeks a Coordinator, Membership, Marketing & Strategic Programs in Washington, DC to support ITI’s membership, marketing, and external programs while backing the Executive Vice President, Public Affairs as needed.

You will maintain member databases, assist with outreach and events, prepare materials, track engagement, and coordinate with teams across communications, policy, and programs to ensure a positive member experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration, event management, public relations, public policy, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1–3 years of relevant professional experience in membership, marketing, events, programs, association management, stakeholder engagement, or a related field. Relevant internships or comparable experience may be considered.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and administrative skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and attention to detail.
  • Experience or familiarity with databases, CRM systems, email marketing platforms, contact management tools, or event registration systems is preferred.
  • Interest in association management, membership, marketing, events, stakeholder engagement, technology policy, or public affairs.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior executives, member company representatives, vendors, speakers, policymakers, and other external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and comfort learning new technology platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Vice President, Membership and Vice President, Strategic Programs and Engagements in executing ITI’s membership, marketing, events, and external programming priorities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for ITI member companies, member company representatives, prospective members, partners, policymakers, industry stakeholders, and other key external audiences.
  • Manage and regularly update stakeholder databases, distribution lists, event invitation lists, and segmented outreach lists in coordination with the membership, communications, policy, and programs teams.
  • Support member onboarding, renewals, engagement, and outreach by preparing communications, materials, contact lists, reports, and follow-up.
  • Help track member engagement across ITI meetings, policy activities, events, programs, and other organizational touchpoints.
  • Assist with email marketing and audience outreach for ITI programs, events, membership activities, and other initiatives, including list preparation, segmentation, distribution, and basic performance tracking.
  • Support development and distribution of marketing and promotional materials for events, programs, membership initiatives, sponsorships, and other external activities.
  • Coordinate logistics for ITI and ITI Institute events, programs, meetings, roundtables, and other engagements, including invitations, registration, speakers, venues, vendors, catering, materials, audiovisual needs, and on-site or virtual execution.
  • Assist with speaker and participant outreach, confirmation, briefing materials, scheduling, and follow-up.
  • Prepare agendas, briefing materials, presentations, attendee lists, run-of-show documents, meeting materials, and other program and event collateral.
  • Support post-event and post-program follow-up, including thank-you communications, attendance and engagement tracking, contact updates, and lessons learned.
  • Assist with sponsorship and partnership administration, including maintaining prospect and sponsor information, tracking deliverables, coordinating materials, and supporting sponsor experiences.
  • Coordinate closely with the communications and digital team on promotion of programs, events, membership activities, and other audience-development efforts.
  • Serves as the backup coordinator supporting the Executive Vice President, Public Affairs, including scheduling and meeting coordination, preparation of materials, tracking action items, and supporting cross-functional Public Affairs priorities.
  • Support team-wide Public Affairs meetings, planning activities, internal coordination, and follow-up.
  • Help identify and implement ways to improve Public Affairs administrative processes, data management, event workflows, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Perform other duties, including administrative and project coordination support, as assigned.

About the role:

As a Coordinator on ITI’s Public Affairs team, you will support ITI’s membership, marketing, strategic programs, and stakeholder engagement activities, working closely with the programs and membership leads. You will also serve as the backup Coordinator providing administrative and organizational support to the Executive Vice President, Public Affairs.

You will help maintain the systems, relationships, and logistics that support a strong member experience and successful external programs. This includes maintaining member and stakeholder information, supporting marketing and outreach, coordinating meetings and events, preparing materials, tracking engagement, and helping ensure that Public Affairs initiatives are executed effectively and professionally.
