Job summary

  • B.A. Degree (or equivalent) with strong interest in the arts.
  • 2-3 years’ working experience; museum/gallery desirable.
  • Experience managing content across multiple social media channels with analytics.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with photography, videography, and editing for digital platforms preferred.

Description

The Morgan Library & Museum invites applicants for the position of Digital Communications Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Communications and Marketing, this role supports the Morgan’s digital presence across social media and the museum blog by creating and publishing engaging, audience-focused content, while contributing to publicity and communications efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement social media strategy, and create, schedule, and publish content across platforms, collaborating with museum departments to highlight the Morgan’s collections, exhibitions, programs, events, and institutional news.
  • Monitor social media performance and use analytics to improve content and audience engagement.
  • Coordinate outreach to and visits by social media influencers, and develop collaborations with partner and cultural organizations.
  • Develop and edit original blog content by curatorial staff and guest scholars.
  • Support publicity efforts, including sending out press releases, invitations, and press kits.
  • Assist with communications projects, including the College Ambassador Program, onsite photography and filming, and event production, and other duties as directed.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • B.A. Degree (or equivalent); with strong interest in the arts and humanities preferred.
  • 2-3 years’ working experience; some experience in a museum or gallery is desirable.
  • Experience managing content across multiple social media channels, using related tools and analytics to monitor performance and engagement.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience with photography, videography, and editing for digital platforms preferred.
Additional Requirements
  • Availability for occasional early morning, evening, and rare weekend hours as needed for photography or film shoots and museum events.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during media events, special events, and photography or film shoots.
Compensation

$62,000-$67,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits plan.
