Job summary

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited college or university.
Three years of experience in a library setting.
Texas Driver’s License or ability to obtain one within 90 days.
First Aid – Stop the Bleed and CPR/AED certifications required or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Creates original cataloging for donated and new library materials in digital and electronic formats and edits purchased catalog records.
Maintains bibliographic database of materials with Technical Services staff.
Assists with acquisition of digital and electronic materials.
Processes materials and ensures proper shelf placement.
Downloads readable MARC records from various databases.
Assists library patrons and callers with information.
Participates in professional meetings and continuing education on library trends.
Oversees daily operation of automated systems and workstations.
Advises on IT best practices for computer systems.
