Qualifications
Master of Library and Information Science (MLS/MLIS) degree from an ALA Accredited program or MLS/MLIS in progress.
3+ years library experience preferably in Collection Development or Technical services.
A Bachelor of Arts degree plus 5+ years of relevant experience may be substituted for the MLS requirement.
Considerable knowledge of standard library practices, procedures, and technologies.
Responsibilities
Library collection maintenance and development, cataloging processes, RFID encoding.
Performs original and/or copy cataloging as required.
Prepares and processes materials for circulation.
Reviews and updates the catalog records periodically.
Regularly review the collection to identify outdated, damaged, underutilized material and remove them.
Develop inventory control processes and procedures.
Perform statistical analysis through the collection of survey data.
Evaluates donated material and gifts for inclusion in the collection.
Manages purchase requests from the community.
Assist with library collection budget tracking.
Manage facility rentals.
