Job summary

Txla is seeking an Adult Services Librarian to lead program development for adults, manage budgets, and enhance community engagement. You will coordinate spaces, supervise volunteers, and oversee marketing materials to promote library services.

The role requires MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited program (or enrollment), a valid Texas driver’s license, and preferred experience in public libraries with bilingual skills as a plus. Evening/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library Science or Library Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution (or current enrollment).
• Valid Texas Driver’s License or ability to obtain one.
• One year of professional librarian experience preferred; public library experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, schedule, present, and evaluate adult programs and manage the programming budget.
• Coordinate use and staffing of library meeting spaces; act as on-site contact and ensure setup and cleanup.
• Supervise volunteers, recruit/train, and coordinate activities.
• Oversee displays and adult spaces marketing materials; develop community partnerships.
• Coordinate communications and marketing with library staff and manage social media to promote services.
