Responsibilities

• Teach five visual arts courses per academic year, with a primary focus on digital arts.
• Develop and deliver engaging lessons for grades 6-12, adapting instruction to meet various learning styles.
• Create and assess assignments such as quizzes, tests, projects, and exams to evaluate student progress.
• Provide constructive, individualized feedback and offer additional support to students during office hours.
• Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment conducive to student engagement and respect for learning.

Ransom Everglades is seeking a full-time Digital Arts Teacher to join our Visual Arts faculty, who will be responsible for teaching Digital Arts courses in both Middle School (MS) and Upper School (US). The teacher may also be asked to teach additional visual arts courses based on their expertise. This position supports our mission of promoting lifelong learning in a diverse, values-based community, focusing on inquiry-based, student-centered education, global perspectives, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, strong collaboration skills, and excellent attendance.

Essential Duties Responsibilities

• Teach five visual arts courses per academic year, with a primary focus on digital arts.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Illustrator, Photoshop, Animate, Fresco, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.
• Develop and deliver engaging lessons for grades 6-12, adapting instruction to meet various learning styles.
• Create and assess assignments such as quizzes, tests, projects, and exams to evaluate student progress.
• Provide constructive, individualized feedback and offer additional support to students during office hours.
• Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment conducive to student engagement and respect for learning.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational best practices.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress through conferences and reports.
• Collaborate with faculty, especially within the Visual Arts department, to share resources and strategies.
• Participate in section, department, and all-school meetings, as well as school-wide initiatives and professional development sessions.
• Serve as an academic advisor and engage in school activities and events, supporting the overall school community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (BFA), Arts (BA), or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Experience teaching Middle and Upper School students, with independent school teaching experience strongly preferred.
