Regency at Grand Blanc, part of Ciena Healthcare, seeks a Director of Dietary Services to lead the dietary department, supervise staff, and ensure nutritional needs of residents are met according to standards and regulations.

The role involves budgeting, menu planning, and coordination with nursing to ensure therapeutic diets. A Bachelor’s in Dietetics/Nutrition and CDR registration are required, with ServSafe within 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field required.
• Minimum of one year experience as a Dietitian in healthcare or skilled nursing setting preferred.
• One to two years management/supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of MDS, care planning, and clinical documentation standards.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations governing dietary and nutritional services.
• Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required.
• Must meet state licensure requirements for a Dietitian (if applicable).
• ServSafe Certification or ServSafe certification within 90 days of employment.
• Computer skills are required.
• Meets all state and federal criminal background check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the dietary department and provides supervision to staff to meet residents' nutritional needs per standards.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities per organizational policies and laws.
• Participates in department head meetings and care planning conferences.
• Oversees food and supply purchases within budget.
• Provides guidance on diet planning, menu formulation, and service of regular and therapeutic diets.
• Ensures menus meet resident needs and physician orders.
• Interviews residents or families to obtain diet history.
• Maintains records of resident food preferences and progress notes.
• Monitors weights and coordinates with nursing for nutrition guidance.
• Ensures sanitation and safe food handling; maintains compliance with regulations.
