Job summary

Qualifications

• Regular and reliable attendance is required to perform the essential functions of this position.
• Must meet the qualifications for Director of Food and Nutrition Services under 42 CFR 483.60(a)(2) by holding one of the listed credentials or experience.
• Must hold ServSafe certification or obtain it within the period established by the facility.
• Minimum of two years of food service experience, with at least one year in supervisory/management capacity; long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the day-to-day operation of the dietary department.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and job descriptions for the department.
• Plan and post menus meeting residents' nutritional needs with RD approval.
• Ensure food is prepared from standardized recipes and served correctly and palatably.
• Maintain diet cards and tray cards reflecting orders and resident needs.
• Collaborate with RD, nursing, and interdisciplinary team on residents at nutritional risk.
• Purchase supplies within the department budget and manage inventory.
