Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of supervisory experience in a skilled nursing, hospital, or medical center.
• Must hold a certified dietetic training credential approved by ANFP or the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Preferred: cost control, food management, diet therapy, and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Interview patient/family to determine food preferences and diet history.
• Document nutritional needs in the medical record per assessments and care plans.
• Prepare for Registered Dietitian visits and implement recommendations.
• Review diet orders and ensure meals align with prescribed menus.
• Monitor storage, temperatures, and sanitation of the kitchen.
• Supervise tray line service and conduct tray audits.
• Oversee inventory, purchasing, and budget compliance.
• Supervise cleaning of kitchen equipment and proper food handling.
