Job summary

Concord Care of Hartford is seeking a Dietary Manager to lead the Dietary Department, ensuring high-quality food production and service for residents.

You will manage purchasing, inventory, budgets, and sanitation, collaborating with a dietitian and other departments to meet patient needs and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Certified and Tested as a Certified Dietary Manager (or in process of obtaining certification).
• Long-Term Care experience strongly preferred.
• Management experience preferred.
• Computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide management for the Dietary Department, ensuring quality food production and service.
• Direct and assist in the preparation and serving of regular meals and therapeutic diets.
• Order food and supplies, and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Maintain area and equipment in sanitary condition.
• Assure smooth operation with other nursing home departments.
• Participate in auditing resident trays for accuracy.
• Maintain standardized recipes and update food preferences for residents.
• Inspect dietary department regularly to ensure safety and sanitation.
• Assist in cleaning procedures as needed.
• Receive frequent consultations from a qualified dietitian or other nutrition professional.

About the Role

As a Dietary Manager, you'll be responsible for managing the Dietary Department, ensuring high-quality food production and service. This includes purchasing food products and supplies, maintaining cost records, and working to meet budget guidelines. You'll also be responsible for ensuring the safety and sanitation of our food service areas, as well as assisting in cleaning procedures as needed.
