Job summary

CareCore at Westmoreland is seeking an experienced Dietary Manager to lead our dietary department and ensure residents receive high-quality, nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This hands-on role requires directing staff and coordinating with healthcare teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and a track record in long-term care foodservice management, with a focus on safety and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• ServSafe certification is required.
• Previous dietary or food service management experience in healthcare or long-term care is required.
• Experience in maintaining compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations is preferred.
• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the dietary department.
• Supervise, schedule, train, and support dietary staff.
• Manage food and supply ordering, inventory, and department costs.
• Collaborate with the Dietitian and nursing team to meet resident dietary needs.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served according to prescribed diets and resident preferences.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and survey readiness.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and developing dietary team members.
• Promote a positive dining experience for residents.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience managing food service operations, supervising staff, and maintaining compliance within a healthcare or long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the dietary department
• Supervise, schedule, train, and support dietary staff
• Manage food and supply ordering, inventory, and department costs
• Work closely with the Dietitian and nursing team to meet resident dietary needs
• Ensure meals are prepared and served according to prescribed diets and resident preferences
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations
• Maintain survey readiness and required dietary documentation
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and developing dietary team members
• Promote a positive dining experience for residents

Requirements

• ServSafe certification required
• Previous dietary or food service management experience required
• Long-term care, skilled nursing, or healthcare experience strongly preferred
• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification is a plus
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, therapeutic diets, and regulatory requirements
• Ability to lead a team while remaining hands-on with daily department operations
